EnterpriseWorks has introduced into Uganda a game changing solution for water supply in rural areas.   The bob® rainwater bag is a low cost storage container that is easy to transport and easy to set-up.  It comes in a package slightly larger than a 20-liter jerry can but stores 1,400 liters of water, equal to 70 jerry cans.
Over 700 units have been sold in Uganda since the product launch.  New design features that will be included in the next generation of the bob® rainwater bag include a coarse inlet filter, support frame and custom-made outlet fitting.  Work continues on lowering the cost of the base for the bag using locally available materials, as seen in the photo (right).
2200 units or more than      3 million liters of storage can be shipped in a container.  To get to remote sites 15 units can be transported on the back of a motorcycle.
